The WSIP Scholarship may be used towards Session A, a 4-week program or Session B, a 6-week program. The scholarship covers the cost of program fees.
Previous knowledge of the Polish language is not required.
In the Summer of 2018, Julia Greshik and James Johnson-Adamczyk were selected to attend Kosciuszko Foundation's Session A, 4-week Polish language and culture program at the Jagiellonian University Krakow. They attended Polish language classes, courses on the History of Poland, Polish grammar, Polish culture as expressed in literature, and others. The four week program which began at arrival on July 4th and ended on August 1st also included evening workshops on how to make pierogi, Polish traditional dances, and they also experienced what a Polish Christmas Eve celebration is like. On weekends they headed to the Zakopane mountains, rafted on the Dunajec River, payed a solemn visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, and had guided tours of Wawel Castle and the Old Town of Krakow.
